Co-working spaces amidst the crisis

Within a span of mere few weeks, the everyday work, routine, communication, and daily navigation has changed drastically changed. The spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) across the world has caused companies to bring their activities to a standstill. They are now trying to completely readjust their operations and establish productive work from home environment with an effort to halt the spread and, sustain their share in business during these challenging times and after this phase too.

Governments across the globe have ordered people to stay home unless they are providers of essential services or its absolute essential for them to step out of the house. This situation has forced businesses largest remote-work experiment to the date.

For the co-working industry, in particular, the global pandemic has proved to be a threatening adversary to typical operations and functioning, requiring many spaces to close their doors to members. To weather this storm of uncertainty, co-working space providers are under pressure to reevaluate their business model, services, and offerings in light of changes occurring during and post the crisis, sanitation practices to be followed, credit or payment terms that seem lucrative for members and encourage them to avail the solutions quickly and more.

At Meetings and offices, we deeply care about the spaces listed with us and our community and intend to extend our support during these uncertain times. We are engaging with our members and navigating the solutions that shall be deemed as the best suited. We shall follow the best practices laid by the industry as that is the only way to survive and thrive as a global community. With everyone doing their part in preventing the pandemic spread — whether that be working remotely from home, increasing sanitation, or providing a new perspective to the outbreak; many space owners are optimistic that things will soon return to normalcy once the disease curve has flattened. This situation can be a chance to make people explore and find new and more productive ways to work. Co-working will any day be a cost-effective option for budding and re-modeled entrepreneurs. Once the health issue is stabilized, the financial impact may hit the most hard. Cities like Mumbai, the financial capital of the country and Bengaluru being the IT hub of India will start reinforcing the facilities to create a new wave of an economic boost. Co-working space in Mumbai or co-workingspace in Bengaluru will be the best bet to start those discussions and meetings again, ensure they are productive, and save money, both for the workers and for the company. It will be interesting to see how the situation evolves in the next few months to come and how co-working spaces will respond. We at Meetings and Offices are prepared.
